Chattering and beeping had filled her ears, the noise was unbearable, kayleigh squinted slightly as she saw white walls, it was a struggle to lift herself up in whatever bed that she was in, her arms where attached to monitors with fluids hung up next to the hospital bed as her normally fairly perfect hair was messy. The hospital walls where as clean as they have ever been every time she had visited hospitals or injured herself. She quietly laughed it was bittersweet the fact that regina had gotten her off was not particularly amusing but it was the fact that she now had been in a hospital bed with heavy bruising that ached in her entire body.
[break][break]
She kept a straight face with everything that had happened as a nurse noticed that she was awake and decided to scuttle off to find a doctor or someone else which kayleigh rolled her eyes at the nurse scuttling around almost shocked to see the girl awake at this time. She looked in the mirror that was across from her hospital bed, and saw that her right side of around her eye was a bluey black in colour from the impact that was partially from the sand school and the other half was landing straight down with her face hitting the floor first.
[break][break]
Kayleighs facial features where almost in a straight frown as she saw the nurse who was scuttling around before returning to her ward room with a doctor in tow. She sighed as she really was not wanting to hear the prognosis of her accident. The papery hospital gown made her skin itchy and all she wanted to do was go home and sleep and have a stiff drink.
[break][break]
The doctor cleared his throat as he reached her hospital bed.
[break][break]
“Hello miss Steele, we weren't expecting you to be awake quite so soon.”
[break][break]
Kayleigh rolled her eyes at the doctor's nervous tone as he spoke, his white gown was making her edgy and she wanted to leave the hospital. Her tone of voice was clipped and bitter as she watched the nurse changing her fluid bags.
[break][break]
“When can I go home?”
[break][break]
The doctor was shocked at her tone of voice as he carried on speaking to her.
[break][break]
“Well, you can’t go home until your ribs have at least started to heal and your finished on your fluid sets.’
[break][break]
Kayleighs eyes turned almost a deep hazel colour from the doctors words, she fully acknowledged that potentially she would not be able to go home at least for today but she was sick of being stuck in a hospital bed. She wanted to go home and sleep for eternity is what it felt like. The doctor and nurse looked at the young woman as she pulled a stroppy face completely showing her displeasure to the hospital staff.
[break][break]
The dull pain of broken ribs sort of distracted her from how she looked which was not beneficial in the terms of the amount of bruising that she had taken through the impact of the fall and whether it was going to effect her riding career from now. She did need to debate on what she was going to do with regina, the mare had surprised her but she also had realised that perhaps she was way over her head with the project mare.
She scoffed as the doctor and nurse had left her be, alone and sulking in her own head which was not normal, she was normally much friendlier but she was not in the mood for dealing with people and with that she would rather not speak to others.
