Black Label's gonna bring out the rebel

Wyatt was far from a cross country rider or full blown eventer. Sure, he'd jump more than one log out on the trails and he'd popped over some actual jumps in his day, but he was a reiner through and through. Jumping wasn't his mission in life and neither of his horses were cut out for it. They liked to spin fast and slide like dogs dragging their butts across a cozy carpet. They didn't like to fly over any sort of jump, though Slider was rather handy when they hit the trails. The blonde cowboy wasn't sitting atop of Slider, though, and the cross country course of Whittemore was far from the natural atmosphere of a trail with some obstacles to maneuver. Though she was pregnant, Wyatt had taken out his little palomino mare aptly named Lil Yellow Cat, aka Kitten. He wanted to keep her fit up until the later portion of her term so he figured a jaunt around the course, avoiding all obstacles of course, wouldn't hurt her. From the way she was forwardly trucking along she seemed quite happy to be out and about.
Wyatt had checked to make sure that nobody would be out seriously schooling on the course so that he could avoid causing or being involved in a collision, but as they walked along, the cowboy sitting bareback atop the palomino mare, he could hear hoof beats approaching. He'd had his reins resting on the mare's withers, fingers around them but clearly not working them, but to be safe he raised them to get her attention. She was handy in her own right, his previous competitor before he decided to take a stab at the breeding game, and instantly she became alert to him. Looking around beneath the brim of his black cowboy hat, he looked for the source of the hooves. Thankfully, they didn't seem determined. If anything, they weren't even aiming for the rather large jump he was near. Raising his hand, he gave the rider a wave, partially to acknowledge them and partially to encourage them to come over if they were so inclined.
